This wonderful article in nautil.us contains an incredible fact, the entire North American tectonic plate is rotating a about a point in the Yucatan peninsula! The northwest, areas around Seattle, shifted by 4.5 feet from 2005 to 2010. At this rate in 2020 a map or gps system not adjusted for tectonic motion should be off by 13.5 feet in Seattle compared to 2005! And another 81 feet of motion will occur by the year 2100.
On the opposite end of the continent the movement is much slower with only 2 feet of motion per 5 years in Florida.
